Key Account Procurement Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing \& Supply Chain team.

This is a hands\-on procurement role with a strong customer and supplier management focus. You will take ownership of the day\-to\-day procurement activities for one of our largest strategic customers, ensuring materials are available when required while managing suppliers, purchase orders, shortages, lead times and supply risks.

Working across Purchasing, Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Finance, you'll be a key point of contact between the customer, our internal teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day\-to\-day procurement relationship for a key customer.


• Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP and customer demand.


• Monitor supplier delivery dates, acknowledgements and outstanding orders.


• Manage material shortages, supplier delays and supply issues through to resolution.


• Provide customers with clear updates on material availability, lead times and potential supply risks.


• Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.


• Work closely with Planning and Operations to ensure material availability supports production requirements.


• Liaise with Engineering on component changes, obsolescence, substitutions and NPI.


• Monitor and challenge supplier performance, including On\-Time Delivery (OTD).


• Support supplier negotiations, cost\-reduction activities and alternative sourcing.


• Identify potential supply chain risks and take proactive action to minimise disruption.


• Maintain accurate purchasing information within ERP/MRP systems.

Essential:

• Previous experience within Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain.


• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.


• Good knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management.


• Experience using ERP/MRP systems.


• Strong communication and relationship\-building skills.


• Commercially aware and confident challenging suppliers.


• Strong organisational and problem\-solving skills.


• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.


• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

• Experience within electronics manufacturing, EMS or CEM would be particularly beneficial, although this is not essential.


• We would also welcome candidates with experience in:


• Electronic components and associated supply chains.


• BOMs, MRP, NPI and engineering change processes.


• Working directly with major/key customers.


• Supplier negotiations and cost reduction.


• Supply chain risk management.


• CIPS, APICS or an equivalent procurement/supply chain qualification.
