Junior Structural Engineer

Job Summary
We are a small but growing structural engineering consultancy based in Banbury, working on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a motivated Assistant / Junior Structural Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently on a variety of project, producing structural calculations, CAD drawings, and reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs solutions, calculations, and specifications for residential and commercial buildings.


• Prepare drawings using CAD software (ZWCAD) and structural analysis/design software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, or similar tools.


• Carry out connection design for steelwork and other structural elements. Preparing steel connection CAD/hand made drawings or details.


• Preparing structural calculations for timber/steel/concrete and masonry.


• Work collaboratively with architects, builders, and clients.


• Attend site visits and inspections when required (not essential, depends on workload).


• Manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines.

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).


• Experience in residential and/or commercial structural design (preferred but not essential).


• Proficiency with CAD and at least one structural design package (TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, or similar).


• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, relevant design codes and NHBC Standards.


• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise confidently with clients and project partners.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
