Junior School Italian Teacher
St Georgeʼs British International School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic part\-time
Italian Teacher to join our Junior School commencing in September 2026 (maternity cover). The
successful candidate will be based at City Centre Junior School/La Storta Junior School (to be
confirmed upon appointment) campuses in Rome.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Encourage each pupil to develop and learn through enthusiastic and personalised
supports them in acquiring independence
- Work collaboratively within the Italian department to plan transition projects between Key
Junior to Senior School
- Use rigorous record keeping and follow up, to document the pupilsʼ learning and support
- Be aware of, and comply with, all the School policies including those for teaching and
- Develop and share schemes of work and resources, using in\-house formats
- Assist with covering colleagues as required
- Attend all meetings and INSET as required
- Provide and coordinate extra\-curricular Italian activities in the Junior School in order to

- Demonstrate professional curiosity in relation to each studentʼs wellbeing and welfare, and
- Actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
- Create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all of the
- Be familiar with all the schoolʼs policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring
- Promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst pupils
- Be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children
- Contribute to the safe supervision of children at break and lunch times
- Promote pride in the school among the pupil body through high standards of dress,
- Ensure that all communication is acted upon appropriately and in a timely manner
- Attend Parentsʼ Evenings, Assemblies and other school events after school during term
- Be responsible for all school resources, particularly those in your care, reporting damage
- Contribute to the virtual learning environment, the website, social media and publications
- Contribute to the schoolʼs Self Evaluation and Strategic Plan
- Foster a close partnership with parents, initiating contact in appropriate circumstances
- Carry out any reasonable professional request made by the Principal or Head of Junior
