£31,000 to £36,000 basic salary

An established international food trading business is looking for an ambitious Junior Sales Executive to join its growing commercial team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales experience who enjoys speaking with customers, building relationships and developing new business. You will learn the full commercial process, from sourcing products and preparing quotations through to coordinating deliveries and managing customer accounts.
The business supplies customers across the UK and Europe, offering strong exposure to international trading, logistics and commercial negotiations.
The Role You will manage a mixture of new business activity and existing customer relationships, working closely with an experienced team to develop your knowledge of the market.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building a portfolio of customers through outbound calling and proactive prospecting
- Developing relationships with new and existing customers
- Attending customer meetings and supplier visits across the UK
- Identifying suitable products based on customer requirements, volumes and delivery timescales
- Preparing quotations and following up on proposals and open orders
- Supporting transport bookings and delivery coordination
- Monitoring your sales pipeline and reporting on customer feedback and market activity
• At least two years of experience in a sales or commercial role
- Confidence speaking with customers over the phone
- A proactive approach to new business development
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage your own diary
- A commercially focused mindset with a willingness to learn
- A dependable and persistent approach to following up opportunities
- Experience within food, agriculture, wholesale or commodity sales would be beneficial but is not essential
• Basic salary of £31,000 to £36,000
