Junior CAD Designer
We are a small and exclusive family\-run business, based in the Surrey Hills, selling high quality corporate gifts to some of the country's most prestigious companies and institutions, and holding a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty the King as a maker of silver gifts, seeking to recruit an energetic candidate in the position of junior CAD designer.
We are looking for a candidate who is positive, friendly, and willing to help with all situations. We are looking for someone to work hard and have fun in a busy and varied environment. It is essential that you can work with CAD software (SolidWorks ideally) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator). Strong organisational skills are important as you will need to manage designs with our senior designer and the sales staff. Basic understanding of Microsoft programs would be helpful.
This opportunity is available to everyone of the relevant skills, including newly graduated designers.
Responsibilities:
- Originating detailed bespoke 3D designs on SolidWorks from sketches and concepts provided by the sales team
- Using Keyshot Software to create photo\-realistic visuals
- Editing existing photography in Adobe Photoshop such as changing colours, applying logos and general post\-editing
- Creating scaled technical artworks in Adobe Illustrator of both bespoke product and packaging
- Working with the factory to ensure technical drawings are followed accurately via email or telephone
- Using our in\-house laser engraving machine to personalise stock products (XTool F1 Ultra)
- Working on marketing visuals with our director for Linkedin, brochures, email campaigns, etc.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday \- 9am to 5:30pm (Fridays to 5:00pm)
- Dorking: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in product/industrial design (or of the same experience/knowledge)
- Solidworks (or similar software required)
- Adobe Suite (required)
- Keyshot (preferred)
