Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Administrator to support our site teams, supervisors and contracts managers.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in administration within the construction industry.
The ideal candidate will enjoy speaking with people, be confident on the telephone and have a positive, can\-do attitude. Previous administrative or construction experience would be helpful but is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
You will initially support the team with bookings, job administration and document management. As your knowledge and experience develop, you will receive training in areas including certification, lodgements and PAS processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage shared inboxes and respond to enquiries.
- Arrange appointments and bookings with tenants, residents, clients and operatives by telephone and email.
- Maintain and manage bookings, including updating our job management system, internal trackers and client or partner systems.
- Create new jobs and set up the relevant digital property folders.
- Raise purchase orders and work orders.
- Ensure documents, including risk assessments and method statements, are uploaded accurately.
- Maintain electronic records and file documents in the correct locations.
- Update spreadsheets, trackers and company records.
- Submit documentation for certification.
- Chase outstanding information from suppliers, subcontractors and operatives.
- Assist with preparing reports and administrative information for managers.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to support the smooth running of the office.
- Undertake other reasonable administrative duties as required.
As you gain experience and confidence in the role, your responsibilities may progress to include:
- Supporting the lodgement and PAS processes.
- Processing certificates and associated documentation.
- Taking greater responsibility for job administration and client updates.
- Developing your knowledge of construction, electrical and renewable energy projects.
- Previous experience in an office or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
- Construction industry experience is helpful but not essential.
- Confident and professional when speaking with customers and colleagues.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Organised, accurate and able to manage several tasks at once.
- Willing to learn and keen to progress.
- Positive, helpful and able to work well as part of a team.
- Reliable and able to use initiative.
- Able to travel reliably to our Chelmsford office, which may require access to your own transport due to its location.
