Discover the Role
As a Junior Accounting Officer, you will support a portfolio of local and international clients in the Netherlands with their financial, accounting, and compliance needs. Working closely with more experienced Accounting Officers and under the supervision of a Supervisor Accounting, you will play an active role in ensuring that client entities remain compliant while delivering high\-quality day\-to\-day accounting support.

This role offers a strong learning environment where you will gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and international structures. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Legal Officers, as well as external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and advisors. A strong command of Dutch is essential, as you will be working closely with local clients and regulatory bodies.

You will be part of a collaborative team focused on building long\-term client relationships, delivering tailored solutions, and supporting clients in navigating complex regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international clients, advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies

  • Provide day\-to\-day financial, accounting, and administrative support to client entities

  • Assist in maintaining accounting records, including journal entries and financial data

  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and client\-specific reports

  • Assist in cash management activities, including bank administration and payment processing

  • Prepare and support reporting to regulatory authorities such as the Chamber of Commerce and Tax Authorities

  • Work closely with senior team members and support ongoing projects

  • Maintain accurate client files and ensure proper documentation is in place

  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to support reporting and compliance processes

  • Identify discrepancies or issues and escalate where appropriate

  • Support the preparation of tax\-related documentation (e.g. corporate income tax, VAT where applicable)

  • Assist in monitoring outstanding receivables and support billing processes

  • Participate in client meetings where required and provide support in stakeholder communication

  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements

Key Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience or a strong internship background in accounting or finance

  • Good understanding of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS)

  • Interest in financial processes, reporting, and compliance environments

  • Experience or exposure to financial systems (e.g. SAP, CaseWare, Dynamics) is a plus

  • Fluent Dutch and strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to work

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop within an accounting environment

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment
