John Lewis Ori Caffe Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Ori Caffe within the john lewis store reading. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Duties

• Assist in supervising daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery


• Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high culinary standards


• Manage team members, including serving staff and kitchen personnel, fostering a positive work environment


• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards


• Support in organising staff schedules and delegating tasks effectively


• Monitor food production to meet quality and presentation expectations


• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any service issues promptly


• Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed


• Contribute to training programmes for new staff members in food safety, service protocols, and kitchen procedures

Experience

• Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting


• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations


• Experience in food safety standards and food production processes


• Previous roles involving team management and leadership responsibilities


• Familiarity with hospitality industry practices, including serving and barista experience is advantageous


• Knowledge of hotel or restaurant operations is desirable but not essential


• Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of service and quality
