Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems and infrastructure to support our organisational objectives. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable system architectures leveraging service\-oriented architecture principles.
- Support the development, maintenance and improvement of internal systems, staff tools and operational workflows.
- Assist with Shopify, e\-commerce, warehouse, inventory, reporting and website\-related system tasks.
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot React\-based dashboards and workspaces, API integrations, database\-backed workflows and internal system features where required.
- Support UI/UX improvements for internal tools, websites and mobile app screens, including reviewing layouts, user flows and Figma designs where required.
- Configure and manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server; optimise database performance through tuning and query optimisation.
- Support Node.js/API\-related backend tasks, including issue investigation, data checks and small controlled improvements.
- Oversee network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, DHCP configuration, and information security protocols.
- Develop automation scripts using Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, or Shell Scripting to streamline operations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system design, architecture diagrams, APIs integrations (RESTful services), and operational procedures.
- Monitor system health metrics and troubleshoot issues related to system performance or security vulnerabilities proactively.
- Proven experience in systems engineering or solution architecture within enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and modern web development.
- Strong understanding of React, React Native or similar front\-end/mobile tools.
- Strong understanding of Node.js, Express, REST APIs, backend systems or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash (Unix shell), Python, PowerShell or Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
- Deep understanding of computer networking concepts including VPNs, DNS, DHCP, load balancing techniques, firewalls, and network security best practices.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Figma, UI/UX principles, responsive layouts or user\-focused interface design.
- Strong problem\-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
Hour of Work: Monday \- Friday, 9am \- 5pm.
Pay: £28,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
