IT Project Manager (Contract) specific to a bespoke Shopify build

We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented IT Project Manager (Contract) to lead a bespoke Shopify B2B e\-commerce platform development project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the end\-to\-end delivery of a customized online store, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and optimal user experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive project management expertise, and a deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud computing, and agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Your proactive approach will drive project success, coordinate cross\-functional teams, and deliver innovative solutions that elevate our digital commerce capabilities.

Duties

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the bespoke Shopify build, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.


• Gather detailed requirements from stakeholders to define project scope and translate business needs into technical specifications.


• Develop comprehensive project plans using tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, TFS, and SharePoint to track progress and manage resources effectively.


• Coordinate with developers, designers, QA teams, and external vendors to facilitate software development, testing, and deployment phases.


• Manage the SDLC process by implementing best practices for release management, version control, and disaster recovery strategies.


• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), create test cases, and ensure all deliverables meet quality standards before release.


• Oversee communication across all project stakeholders through clear reporting, status updates, and negotiation to resolve issues promptly.


• Utilize analysis skills to identify potential risks or bottlenecks early and implement mitigation strategies aligned with SAFe or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.


• Facilitate sprint planning sessions using Scrum or Kanban frameworks to promote continuous improvement and timely delivery of features.


• Ensure compliance with security standards by coordinating with IT security teams on cloud computing platforms like AWS or Oracle Cloud.

• Proven experience managing complex software development projects within an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban frameworks.


• Extensive knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, TFS, Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).


• Strong understanding of SDLC processes including requirements gathering, analysis skills, test\-driven development (TDD), and release management.


• Hands\-on experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Oracle Cloud for hosting e\-commerce solutions.


• Familiarity with SQL databases and data analysis tools for managing backend integrations and reporting requirements.


• Demonstrated leadership in coordinating cross\-functional teams across multiple disciplines including software development, QA testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).


• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to non\-technical stakeholders and negotiate effectively during project negotiations.


• Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment; organizational skills are essential.


• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and program management principles to ensure system resilience throughout the project lifecycle.

Pay: £250\.00\-£300\.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Milton Keynes (Northamptonshire, East Midlands Region)
