IT Manager

A hands-on IT Manager opportunity for an experienced IT professional to manage Microsoft 365, Windows Server, infrastructure, cyber security support and supplier relationships across the company’s UK technology environment.

This role would also suit a Senior IT Administrator looking to step into a hands-on IT management position, where they can take wider ownership of systems, suppliers and improvements while still remaining actively involved in day-to-day IT support and administration.

SALARY: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Manager to manage and support the company’s UK technology environment, ensuring reliable, secure and cost-effective IT services.

As an IT Manager you will maintain day-to-day IT operations, support users, manage infrastructure and work closely with external support partners and business stakeholders.

The IT Manager will suit someone approachable, practical and commercially aware, with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to improve systems without unnecessary disruption or cost.

DUTIES

Your duties as the IT Manager include:

• Infrastructure Support: Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Dell server infrastructure, Hyper-V virtual machines, file shares, permissions and group policies


• Microsoft 365 Administration: Administer Microsoft 365 and Intune, supporting laptops, desktops, mobile devices, endpoint security and user onboarding and offboarding


• System Monitoring: Monitor system health, backups, business-critical services and infrastructure documentation to support stable and reliable IT operations


• Network and Security Support: Support Sophos firewall infrastructure, Aruba switches, wireless connectivity, vulnerability management and cyber security best practice


• Business Applications: Provide support and liaison for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, Power BI reporting requirements and process improvement opportunities


• Supplier Management: Manage external IT support providers and software vendors, escalate and track issues, obtain quotations and support value for money


• IT Planning and Assets: Assist with IT budgeting, asset management and practical technology improvements that support the business

ESSENTIAL

• Strong experience in senior IT support, infrastructure or systems administration


• Windows Server administration experience


• Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration experience


• Experience with Hyper-V virtualisation


• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, VLANs, switches and firewalls


• Experience with Microsoft Intune


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


• Excellent communication and customer service skills


• Approachable, practical and able to manage priorities independently

• Sophos firewall experience


• Aruba switching experience


• Dynamics NAV support experience


• Power BI knowledge


• Experience within a distribution, wholesale or warehouse environment
