We are seeking a highly capable IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a robust, secure, and scalable technology environment within a fast\-paced financial services setting. This role will play a key part in managing core infrastructure, driving system improvements, and ensuring high availability across critical platforms.The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, hands\-on infrastructure experience, and a background working within financial or banking environments.Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud environments
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring optimal uptime
- Manage and support on\-premise and cloud\-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Maintain network security, firewalls, and access controls in line with best practices
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver infrastructure improvements and technical solutions
- Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide timely resolution
- Ensure systems operate in compliance with regulatory and security requirements relevant to financial services
Requirements
- Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar)
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration
- Financial services or banking experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper\-V, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of security frameworks and best practices
- Strong problem\-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast\-paced environment
Desirable Skills
- Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
- Exposure to DevOps practices or infrastructure\-as\-code
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools
- Understanding of regulatory requirements within financial environments

Pay: £80,000\.00\-£120,000\.00 per year
