IT Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support an M\&A infrastructure integration programme for our Roche / LumiraDx client in Scotland.

The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will support an M\&A programme by delivering hands\-on engineering across servers, networking, storage, backup, and data migration activities.
The role will focus on stabilising and migrating legacy infrastructure into the target\-state environment while ensuring secure, controlled, and well\-documented changes throughout the transition.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Engineering \& Architecture
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions required for integration of existing systems.
- Assess legacy environments and define remediation or migration approaches.
- Integrate and relocate legacy IT infrastructure into the target environment.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams and migration plans.
- Support and maintain Dell servers, Windows Server and virtualisation platforms.
- Manage and optimise QNAP NAS storage, including configuration, expansion and data protection.
- Perform server migrations, consolidation and decommissioning activities.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki MX, MS and MR equipment.
- Implement and support VLANs, ACLs, firewall rules and network segmentation.
- Support network changes related to domain migrations, tenant alignment and SaaS repointing.
- Perform racking/unracking, structured cabling, labelling and cable management.
- Manage and support Cisco Meraki infrastructure.
- Assist with legacy infrastructure decommissioning.
- Maintain and optimise Veeam Backup \& Replication.
- Support backups for servers, VMs and NAS workloads.
- Perform backup integrity checks and restore testing.
- Adjust backup strategies to support data migration activities.
- Plan and execute structured data transfers across servers, NAS devices and cloud platforms.
- Validate data integrity, security and completeness during migrations.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure controlled and low\-risk changes.
- Provide hands\-on guidance and support to junior IT staff.
- Share troubleshooting methodologies and infrastructure best practices.
- Provide knowledge transfer for systems and solutions implemented during the engagement.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Work closely with project managers, security teams and vendors.
- Maintain stable infrastructure operations throughout the integration programme.
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer within multisite or complex IT environments.
- Strong hands\-on experience with:

- Veeam Backup \& Replication

- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- DHCP
- Routing
- VLANs
- ACLs
- Firewall \& network segmentation
- Demonstrable experience in data transfer, migration or infrastructure consolidation.
- Ability to produce clear technical and architecture\-level documentation.
- Experience providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
- Previous experience with M\&A, IT integration or large\-scale infrastructure change programmes is highly desirable.
- Experience working with legacy environments transitioning into a new parent organisation is a strong advantage.
- Cloud infrastructure experience.
- Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID knowledge.
- Experience with SaaS repointing and tenant alignment.
- Linux administration exposure.
- Structured, methodical and calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non\-technical stakeholders.
- Delivery\-focused with a pragmatic approach to problem\-solving.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of technical outcomes.
- Collaborative and willing to mentor and share knowledge.
This contract has been created to accelerate the integration of legacy infrastructure into the target\-state environment.
The successful engineer will help stabilise existing systems, execute infrastructure migrations, align networks and provide knowledge transfer to ensure a smooth transition of the IT function.
Pay: £400\.00 per day
