Our AI TaskForce team located in Vienna invites applications for an internship. Our AI TaskForce is passionately advancing the internal AI landscape to drive innovation and efficiency within AIT. A primary focus lies in developing assistive AI tools that enhance workflows and foster knowledge exchange, empowering AIT’s researchers and staff to leverage AI technologies effectively in their work. In addition, we support organisation\-wide AI capability building.

As part of our team, you will contribute to the development of a modern data platform for AI, data\-driven research, and scientific reproducibility. Hereby, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and deepen your understanding of data governance, traceability, reproducibility, scalable data engineering, and sustainable technologieswhile learning from experienced researchers and engineers in an innovative environment.
Internship in the field of “Data Platform For AI \& Scientific Reproducibility”
AI TaskForce

• You will support the development of a data platform for scientific reproducibility and AI applications.


• With guidance from our experienced team members, you will learn and apply data governance concepts such as metadata management, traceability, provenance, lineage, and FAIR data principles.


• You will help us to design and implement data pipelines for large\-scale scientific and AI datasets.


• You will support reproducible machine learning workflows, including experiment tracking and versioning concepts, while expanding your understanding of AI development practices.


• You will gain practical insights into technologies and practices related to data engineering, automation, CI/CD, and MLOps.


• You will contribute to sustainable and reusable software components for research and innovation projects.


• You will collaborate closely with experienced researchers, engineers, and domain experts and learn from real\-world scientific and AI use cases.

Your qualifications:

• You are currently enrolled in a master’s study programme in the field of Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics or a closely related field


• Good programming skills in Python


• Basic understanding of data engineering, data pipelines, and data science workflows


• Good understanding of large data structures and data\-oriented software design


• Familiarity with IT\-based data architectures, databases, or distributed systems


• Ability to work independently and learn new technologies quickly


• Interest in AI, machine learning, scientific computing, or reproducible research


• Interest in open science, reproducible AI, and sustainable software engineering

Exposure to or first experience with the following areas would be an asset:

• MLflow, experiment tracking, or model lifecycle management


• C\+\+, CI/CD, Git, Docker, or automated testing


• Cloud, HPC, or containerized environments


• Metadata standards, data lineage, provenance tracking, or FAIR principles

What to expect:

• Duration of the internship: 5 to 6 months


• Start date: July / August 2026

A remuneration of EUR 1\.461,* \- gross per month for 38\.5 hours per week.
