Role Purpose

This is a hands\-on role with responsibility for coordinating and overseeing payroll operations across our international businesses while working closely with the wider UK Payroll team. You will act as the key contact for our outsourced payroll providers across multiple territories, ensuring payrolls are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with local statutory requirements.

Working collaboratively with HR, Finance, external payroll providers and local advisers, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining payroll compliance, improving processes, supporting acquisitions, and helping to shape the future of payroll across a growing international organisation.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to broaden their international payroll expertise while taking ownership of a critical business function.

Operational

  • Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced payroll providers across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.

  • Take ownership of the coordination and oversight of payroll operations across the Group's international businesses.

  • Work with outsourced providers and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll processes remain compliant with local tax, social security, pension and employment legislation

  • Ensure payrolls are delivered accurately and on time across all territories.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our external payroll providers, and manage payroll systems

  • Work closely with the wider UK Payroll team to support the delivery of the UK payroll

  • Ensure accurate employee data is maintained

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure all payroll\-related changes are processed correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Monitor payroll delivery against agreed service levels and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support the administration of pensions, healthcare schemes and employee benefits where applicable.

  • Maintain robust payroll controls and procedures to minimise risk and ensure compliance.

  • Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll across relevant territories.

  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and efficiencies.

  • Develop and maintain payroll process documentation and operating procedures.

  • Support payroll system improvements, upgrades and implementation projects.

  • Drive consistency and best practice across the Group's payroll operations.

  • Produce payroll reports, analysis and performance metrics.

  • Support month\-end payroll activities including payroll journals and reconciliations.

  • Assist with annual audits and ensure payroll documentation is maintained and readily available.

  • Liaise with internal Finance, Tax and HR teams as required.

  • Support ad hoc payroll reporting and business requests.

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for payroll\-related queries.

  • Provide advice and guidance on payroll, tax and pay\-related matters.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience managing end\-to\-end payroll processes, with strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, pensions and compliance.

  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and payroll/HR systems, with exposure to US and international payrolls desirable.

  • Strong organisational, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Advanced Excel skills, high attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

  • Proactive, continuous improvement mindset.

  • CIPP (or equivalent) qualification and experience supporting payrolls across Europe, North America, Australia or New Zealand are advantageous.
