Interim Category Manager

Description

• Support the delivery of category objectives aligned to the wider procurement strategy


• Contribute to category and product group strategies to improve supply chain performance, reduce risk, and create competitive advantage


• Analyse product ranges and routes to market to maximise value for customers and the organisation


• Produce accurate reports by gathering and analysing data from multiple sources


• Monitor market trends, innovations, and supplier developments to support decision-making


• Support new product launches through insights into industry and consumer trends


• Collate and analyse key data including cost drivers, market dynamics, and supplier options


• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders


• Deliver high-quality customer service, resolving complex queries and identifying opportunities to add value

A successful Category Manager should have:

• Proven experience running end to end procurement within public sector.


• Knowledge of PA23 and proven experience using the new regulations.


• A strong understanding of category management principles and practices.


• Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and compliance requirements.


• Ideally experience with Hard FM, ICT and other indirects.


• Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and identify cost-saving opportunities.


• Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.


• Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

This Interim Category Manager role is 6 months, offering a brilliant opportunity to support in the shaping of the evolving team. They operate a hybrid model, with 2 days working onsite. Competitive day rate on offer, aligned to experience and market conditions.
