We are now seeking a dedicated Instructor Demonstrator in Mechanical & Maintenance Engineering to join the Engineering team at our Deeside campus. This is an exciting opportunity to support practical learning in industry-standard workshops and play a key role in developing the next generation of engineering talent.
About the Role
As an Instructor Demonstrator, you will:
- Deliver high-quality practical demonstrations across a range of mechanical and maintenance engineering skills
- Support learners in developing hand-skills, maintenance techniques, turning, and other core engineering competencies
- Work within well-equipped, modern workshops using industry-standard tools and machinery
- Plan and prepare practical activities in collaboration with the course delivery team
- Maintain workshop standards, ensuring a safe, organised, and productive learning environment
- Carry out essential administrative tasks including record-keeping, progress tracking, and learner assessments
- Promote safe working practices and uphold college policies relating to Health & Safety, Quality, and Equality
- Strong practical engineering skills with up-to-date industry knowledge
- Confidence delivering practical demonstrations to groups of learners
- Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive workshop environment
- Understanding of quality standards within teaching and learning
- Welsh language skills are desirable, and support is available for colleagues wishing to develop their Welsh
