THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL LIVE IN KILKENNY, WATERFORD OR TIPPERARY OR WILLING TO TRAVEL TO BOTH LOCATIONS WEEKLY \- OUR OFFICE LOCATIONS ARE DONASKEAGH, TIPPERARY (HQ) AND KILLANNE, WEXFORD (MOST INSTALL CREWS MAIN BASE).

The I\&C Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and day\-to\-day management of the domestic PV installation and roofing employees within our solar installation’s teams, ensuring solar projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and within agreed timelines. The role works alongside the Electrical Supervisor and Operations Manager to achieve installation excellence across the domestic solar division. Mitros Operations department is currently going through an exciting restructure of its administration and operations processes. It is important to note that the successful candidate would be assisting with the ongoing development of such processes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leading and overseeing multiple solar installation teams.

  • Ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

  • Supporting and managing Team Leaders, installers and field personnel.

  • Monitoring crew performance, productivity, quality and conduct.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, QEHS requirements and relevant regulations.

  • Identifying and resolving operational issues.

  • Supporting positive customer experiences throughout installation.

  • Escalating significant operational issues appropriately.

  • Supporting workforce planning and scheduling.

  • Monitoring project progress and identifying potential delays.

  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of operational issues, crew performance and site activity.

  • Supporting continuous improvement across Field Operations.

  • Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Electrical Supervisor and wider business.

  • Liaising with the service engineer in post installation care with customer queries relating to their roof.
Office – Weekly Responsibilities

When based in the office will have primary responsibility for the following activities:

Operational Administration

  • Review active projects and installation progress.

  • Review outstanding operational issues and required actions.

  • Monitor project timelines and identify potential delays.

  • Review upcoming installations and operational requirements.

  • The coordination of machinery tools and equipment for upcoming installations.

  • Support the scheduling process with the Operations Manager and Ops Admin Team.

  • Review crew availability, allocation and capacity.

  • Respond to operational emails and queries.

  • Maintain accurate records of operational matters.

  • Ensure actions arising from the previous week are followed up.
Project \& Performance Reviews
  • Review project performance and installation completion.

  • Review quality issues and recurring installation problems.

  • Review customer issues and complaints relating to field operations.

  • Identify recurring crew or operational issues.

  • Track key operational KPIs and performance data.

  • Prepare information and updates for the Operations Manager. (weekly)

  • Identify trends and areas requiring intervention.
People Management
  • Review crew performance and outstanding staff issues.

  • Maintain records relating to attendance, performance, conduct and development.

  • Support staff reviews and performance management processes.

  • Record and follow up on employee issues raised by roofers or installers.

  • Support training and development planning.

  • Review payroll queries and ensure relevant information or notes are accurately recorded.

  • Ensure issues requiring HR involvement are appropriately escalated to HR.
Continuous Improvement
  • Reviewing current processes.

  • Assisting in the ownership and building of the post install care service.

  • Identifying inefficiencies and recurring issues.

  • Developing and implementing improved ways of working.

  • Reviewing operational data.

  • Supporting the development of SOPs and processes.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality and customer experience.

  • Collecting and maintaining operational data to support management decision\-making.

  • Assisting the sales team with technical training and ongoing development.
Road – Weekly Responsibilities

When based on the road, the I\&C Manager will have primary responsibility for direct field oversight and operational support of domestic PV installation and roofing crews.

Site \& Crew Management

  • Conduct regular site visits across active installations.

  • Monitor workmanship, productivity, safety and compliance.

  • Check that crews are working in accordance with approved designs, specifications and company standards.

  • Identify and resolve site issues.

  • Respond to roofer and installer crew calls and urgent operational issues.

  • Monitor crew performance and behaviour.

  • Identify training, development or performance concerns.

  • Record relevant observations and actions.
Customer \& Installation Issues
  • Attend customer/site issues where physical or operational intervention is required relating to the roofing side of the installs.

  • Support resolution of installation\-related customer complaints.

  • Investigate issues arising on site.

  • Liaise with the relevant internal teams to ensure customer issues are resolved.

  • Escalate significant or complex issues to the Operations Manager where required.

  • Ensure customer issues and outcomes are documented.
Escalation to the Operations Manager

The Operations Manager remains the primary escalation point for significant operational matters.

The I\&C Manager should escalate issues including:

  • Significant project delays.

  • Major customer complaints.

  • Serious quality concerns.

  • Health \& safety incidents or significant breaches.

  • Serious employee conduct or performance concerns.

  • Resource or capacity issues that cannot be resolved within Field Operations.

  • Significant operational risks.

  • Issues requiring cross\-functional decision\-making.

  • Matters involving significant financial or commercial implications.
The I\&C Manager is expected to identify, investigate and attempt to resolve operational issues within their remit before escalating, while ensuring that significant issues are raised promptly. Any electrical concerns can be discussed with the Electrical Supervisor.

Accountability \& Performance

The effectiveness of the Install Operations function will be measured through a combination of operational and people\-focused KPIs (2027 identified and measured), including:

  • Installation completion and productivity.

  • Project delivery against agreed timelines.

  • Quality control results.

  • Health \& safety compliance.

  • Customer complaints and resolution.

  • Crew performance.

  • Attendance and employee management.

  • Operational issue resolution.

  • Repeat installation issues.

  • Resource utilisation.

  • Effectiveness of communication and handovers.

  • Continuous improvement initiatives.
The I\&C Manager and Electrical Supervisor will work collaboratively, each within their respective areas of responsibility, to contribute to the collection, review and improvement of operational performance data.

Experience and Qualifications Required

· 3–5\+ years’ experience in solar PV installation, roofing, construction, field operations or a related industry.

· Proven experience supervising and managing field\-based installation teams.

· Practical experience within domestic solar PV installation and/or roofing environments.

· Strong understanding of roofing, working at height and safe installation practices.

· Experience conducting site inspections, quality checks and installation audits.

· Proven ability to manage team performance, productivity, quality, attendance and conduct.

· Strong understanding of Health \& Safety requirements and compliance within a field\-based environment.

· Experience working directly with customers and resolving installation\-related issues.

· Safe Pass, Manual Handling and Working at Heights certification.

· Full clean driving licence.

· Solar PV, roofing or construction\-related qualification preferred.

· Supervisory/management qualification or certificate is desirable.

· Knowledge of SEAI requirements and domestic solar PV standards and processes desirable.

· Strong IT, reporting and administrative skills.

· Excellent communication, organisation and problem\-solving skills.

· Previous experience with Microsoft office and a CRM tool.
