Overview

We are a well\-established precision engineering subcontract manufacturer looking for a hands\-on Inspection Engineer to join our team.

This is not a paperwork\-driven quality role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with components, and taking ownership of inspection processes using CMM and conventional metrology equipment.

You will play a key role in ensuring high\-precision machined parts meet strict customer and industry requirements.

The Role

  • Carry out first\-off, in\-process, and final inspection of precision machined components

  • Operate and program CMM machines

  • Perform detailed inspection using manual and optical equipment (shadowgraph, surface testing, etc.)

  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD\&T

  • Complete FAIRs and inspection reports where required

  • Work closely with production to resolve issues and maintain quality standards

  • Support problem\-solving and continuous improvement activities
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong hands\-on inspection experience within precision machining

  • Proven ability using CMM (programming preferred)

  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance CNC milled \& turned components

  • Confident reading engineering drawings and GD\&T

  • High attention to detail and a proactive mindset

  • Experience with FAIRs and structured inspection reporting
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Background in subcontract manufacturing environments

  • Understanding of CNC machining processes

  • 48hr weeks (8am\-6pm) although flexible time available

  • 4 day working week (Monday\-Thursday)
Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
