Innovation Manager - Focus China
Your Mission in a Highly Successful Technology Leader:
You will operate at the intersection of global technology development, innovation, and international market dynamics – with a strong focus on China and the Asia\-Pacific region.
You monitor technological developments in AI, industrial automation, and smart manufacturing, and translate them into concrete innovation and business opportunities.
In this role, you act as a key interface between international markets, internal teams, and external innovation partners, ensuring that ideas are not only generated but also successfully implemented. You will be equally based across our locations in Linz and Shanghai (50/50\).
Your Responsibilities
- Monitor global trends with a focus on AI, industrial automation, and smart manufacturing (with emphasis on China/Asia)
- Identify and evaluate new innovation and business opportunities
- Support open innovation projects and pilot initiatives in AI and automation
- Collaborate with startups, tech companies, and research institutions
- Act as an interface to the Chinese subsidiary, ensuring alignment and effective communication
- Foster knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across regions
- Support the organization of workshops, pilot projects, and partner collaboration formats
- Completed education in Innovation Management, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in innovation management, business development, or related areas
- Interest or initial experience in the Chinese market and intercultural collaboration
- Strong interest in AI, industrial automation, and digital transformation
- Understanding of open innovation and external collaboration models
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Excellent English skills; Mandarin is a plus
- Willingness to work across both locations in Austria and China

- Compensation: The annual gross salary starts at EUR 4,000 per month (full\-time basis). Depending on experience and qualifications, overpayment is possible.
