An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and collaborative professional to join the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Research Delivery Network (Y\&H RRDN) as an Industry Manager. Hosted by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, this pivotal Band 7 role sits within a national ecosystem dedicated to attracting, supporting, and growing commercial clinical research across the UK. Operating as part of a high\-performing regional team, you will act as a critical bridge between commercial sponsors and the NHS. A key facet of this role involves successfully balancing the commercial timelines and delivery needs of global industry partners with the operational capacity and research governance realities faced by local health and care sites.

We are seeking a customer\-focused leader with a proven knack for navigating complex environments. You will be a key point of contact for pharmaceutical, biotech, MedTech companies, and CROs, helping to streamline study setup, maximize regional capacity, and optimize performance against national delivery metrics. Essential attributes include strong strategic thinking, excellent people and influencing skills, and practical experience in research administration (such as contracts, costings, or governance). This position is based in the Yorkshire and Humber region and requires a willingness to travel, making it perfect for an independent self\-starter who thrives on building impactful cross\-sector partnerships in a fast\-moving, collegiate environment.

In this role, you act as a vital bridge: working directly with global industry sponsors to understand their delivery needs, while collaborating closely with local NHS sites to support them in expanding their commercial portfolios. It is a varied and impactful position that offers a clear path to develop your strategic leadership skills, expand your networks, and help bring innovative commercial trials directly to patients across the region.

What you will bring to the role

To thrive in this fast\-moving environment, we are seeking a positive, agile, and confident professional who can expertly balance varying demands. You must have the communication skills to negotiate with industry partners alongside the diplomacy to navigate local NHS site operational realities. Outstanding time management and the capability to work independently are essential.

Key criteria from the person specification that will make you a great fit for our team include:

  • Relationship Management: Ability to manage relationships with Life Sciences companies, Pharma, CROs, MedTech, and wider NIHR stakeholders to attract and grow research.

  • Operational Insight: Experience in research administration, including a solid understanding of research governance issues and experience of developing efficient NHS systems.

  • Data Competency: Ability to create, interpret, and present complex performance reports to different audiences, monitoring delivery against targets.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent people skills with a proven ability to work with, and influence, a wide range of people across complex sectors.

  • Independence: Capability to use initiative to plan, organise, and adjust work programmes independently to ensure effective delivery.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across complex organisations and geographically dispersed teams.

  • Resilience: Ability to work effectively under pressure to achieve strict performance targets.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to move quickly from one topic to another in a fast\-moving, evolving healthcare environment.

  • Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel across the regional geography to support and engage our partners.
