Industrial Mechanical Engineer (Glass Processing Machines)

Toughglaze is looking for a full\-time, Monday to Friday industrial factory Mechanical Engineer (Glass processing Machines). As an Mechanical engineer we expect you to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plants and machinery. You'll work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning.

As an Mechanical engineer your responsibilities will be to:

• The role will involve mechanical assembly and installation of bespoke robotic based automation systems, working predominantly in\-house but also assisting with installations at customer sites across the UK (and occasionally abroad)


• Providing feedback and advice on solutions to the designers


• Working on innovative systems


• Role could develop into commissioning if desired, this would require knowledge on glass machinery and programming

• You will have proven mechanical experience in the industry


• Experience with mechanical fitting, assembling various equipment, building and servicing conveyors, manufacturing equipment, and industrial robots is all highly desirable


• Experience with CNC/ glass processing machines and/or turning would also be a great benefit but not a necessity


• Any candidates suitably demonstrating the required ability and aptitude outside of this skill zone will also be considered for training courses in other fields such as robot programming and PLC programming, if they wish


• Must be a competent problem solver and be hands\-on


• Have an understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical design principles


• You are comfortable travelling, working on\-site and staying away


• You are a team player and able to demonstrate good communication skills


• Electrical knowledge/experience is desirable but not critical for this role


• Full UK driving Licence is required
