Import Customs Clearance Clerk

We are an established and fast‑growing international logistics company. Due to business expansion, we are looking for a dedicated Import Customs Clearance Clerk to join our team in Harmondsworth. This role requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle UK import customs clearance procedures and documentation


• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills, and other supporting documents


• Submit declarations through CDS in accordance with HMRC requirements


• Liaise with HMRC, airlines, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely cargo release


• Classify goods using correct HS Codes and calculate duties and VAT


• Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients


• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with customs regulations


• Assist with customs queries, inspections, and exceptional cases


• Assist with other office administration tasks when required

• Minimum 1 year experience in UK import customs clearance and familiar with ASM Sequoia


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Good communication and organisational skills


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines


• Fluent in English; Mandarin is an advantage for communication with overseas teams


• Competent with basic computer applications (email, Excel, data entry)
