Are you an experienced Sea Freight Import Coordinator looking for your next opportunity with a well-established and growing freight forwarding business?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful international logistics and freight forwarding organisation that is looking to strengthen its Manchester operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid ocean import experience who enjoys taking ownership of shipments from booking through to final delivery, working closely with customers and overseas partners along the way.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end sea freight import shipments, ensuring goods move efficiently and customers receive a consistently high standard of service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Liaising with customers, overseas agents, hauliers and suppliers
- Arranging customs clearance and deliveries
- Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving operational issues
- Providing regular shipment updates to customers
- Maintaining accurate shipping documentation and operational records
- Using CargoWise or similar freight management systems
- Building strong relationships with customers and supporting key accounts
- Ensuring shipments are handled in line with relevant procedures and compliance requirements
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider freight operation
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience within ocean/sea freight forwarding
- Experience managing import shipments end-to-end
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and compliance
- Experience using CargoWise or a similar freight/transport management system
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- A genuine desire to develop your freight forwarding career
