About the role
NTBR Group Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to take ownership of the Company’s day\-to\-day people function and support the continued development of its organisational structure and workforce.
Reporting directly to the Director, the Human Resources Manager will lead workforce planning, recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, HR policy, organisational development, remuneration analysis, HR systems, employee records and management reporting.
This is a hands\-on management position requiring both professional judgement and practical delivery. The successful candidate will be expected to identify workforce requirements, develop appropriate HR processes, provide evidence\-based recommendations to the Director and independently manage approved HR and recruitment activity within delegated authority.
The Director will retain responsibility for overall corporate strategy, approved headcount, budgets and material business decisions. The Human Resources Manager will hold responsibility for the professional management and execution of the HR function.
Key responsibilities
- Assess current and future workforce requirements and prepare headcount, recruitment and organisational recommendations.
- Identify skills gaps, capacity issues, reporting\-line requirements and recruitment priorities.
- Design and maintain job descriptions, person specifications and role structures.
- Research market salaries and provide remuneration recommendations within approved budgets.
- Lead the full recruitment process from approved vacancy through appointment.
- Prepare and place job advertisements across appropriate recruitment channels.
- Screen applications and prepare objective shortlists against defined selection criteria.
- Design structured interview questions and candidate\-assessment frameworks.
- Lead interviews and maintain documented candidate scoring and selection records.
- Coordinate references, right\-to\-work checks and other appropriate pre\-employment checks.
- Issue normal employment offers within approved headcount, salary and delegated authority.
- Escalate senior\-management appointments or exceptional employment terms to the Director.
- Design and manage onboarding and induction arrangements.
- Manage probation processes with the relevant line manager and ensure outcomes are documented.
- Advise on and manage disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, conduct, performance and employee\-relations matters.
- Conduct or coordinate appropriate HR investigations and provide reasoned recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective performance\-management and review processes.
- Develop, maintain and periodically review HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare practical guidance for managers and ensure HR processes are applied consistently.
- Act as the principal internal HR adviser to the Director and future managers.
- Provide evidence\-based recommendations on workforce, organisational and employee matters.
- Constructively challenge management proposals where there are legitimate employment, organisational or workforce concerns.
- Support and coach managers on recruitment, performance, absence management and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate employee records, recruitment records and HR information systems.
- Prepare management information covering headcount, vacancies, recruitment, staffing costs, absence, turnover, probation, performance, employee relations and training.
- Analyse workforce trends and provide practical recommendations to the Director.
- Maintain accurate records of approved salary and contractual changes.
- Coordinate HR information required for payroll processing.
- Identify training and management\-development requirements and coordinate appropriate development activity.
- Maintain appropriate employment and right\-to\-work controls.
- Monitor relevant developments in UK employment practice and recommend necessary changes to Company procedures.
- Review organisational structures, reporting lines and allocation of responsibilities.
- Identify duplication, inefficiencies or unclear accountability and recommend practical improvements.
- Continuously review HR and recruitment processes and implement approved improvements.
The Human Resources Manager will have authority to manage routine HR activity and approved recruitment campaigns within agreed Company policy, headcount and budget.
The role will own:
- job documentation;
- recruitment advertising;
- CV screening;
- shortlisting;
- interview coordination and leadership;
- candidate scoring;
- references and right\-to\-work checks;
- onboarding;
- probation administration;
- routine HR processes; and
- normal employment offers within approved authority.

- senior\-management appointments;
- significant organisational restructuring; and
- other reserved business decisions.
The role operates on a hybrid basis.
Regular attendance at the Company’s Manchester workplace is required, particularly for management meetings, interviews, onboarding, employee\-relations matters, training and other activities requiring in\-person attendance.
Duties suitable for remote completion, including workforce planning, recruitment administration, policy development, HR systems work, HR reporting and management analysis, may be undertaken from home in accordance with the Company’s authorised hybrid\-working arrangements.
Hybrid working does not alter the employee’s contractual hours, responsibilities or requirement to remain available during agreed working hours.
About you
We are looking for an experienced HR generalist capable of independently managing a broad HR function.
You should have previous experience operating at HR Manager, HR Business Partner, senior HR generalist or comparable level, with demonstrable experience across:
- recruitment and selection;
- employee relations;
- performance management;
- HR policy;
- workforce planning;
- management advice; and
- HR systems and reporting.
The successful candidate must be able to investigate issues, analyse evidence, evaluate different options and provide clear recommendations.
Strong written communication, professional judgement, confidentiality, organisation and analytical skills are essential.
Experience using HR information systems, applicant\-tracking systems and workforce data is desirable.
A relevant HR, business or management qualification and/or CIPD qualification is desirable. Relevant professional experience will also be considered.
