Role Overview
You will cover all aspects of HR functions, from recruitment to payroll and ensure all employees are kept happy once they’re here. We currently employee about 90 people. We need you to be here in the office to meet with our employees when they feel the need to speak with HR. Guide DDC in what we should be doing within employment regulations. We use Sage HR as our current HR system alongside Sage Payroll. You must be flexible, organized, and capable of managing rapid change.
This role is office\-based, 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Recruitment
- Full\-Cycle Recruiting: Manage the end\-to\-end hiring process, from drafting job descriptions to negotiating offers with support from the relevant departmental manager.
- Seamless Onboarding: Design an onboarding experience that makes new employees feel welcome and that they have made the right move in their career. Sage HR can assist in process mapping.
- Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, providing mediation and conflict resolution. Being available and in office to resolve these in a timely manner.
- Engagement: Develop initiatives (surveys, team\-building) to maintain high morale and engage with our employees further.
- Policy Development: Maintain and update the Employee Handbook so it stays relevant and up to date with new employment regulations.
- Employment Law: Ensuring adherence to labour laws, health and safety regulations, and data privacy.
- Growth Cycles: Oversee the performance review process.
- Learning \& Development: Identify training needs and provide coaching to managers on how to lead their teams effectively.
- Succession Planning: Identify high\-potential employees and help map out their future with the company.
- Attendance \& Sick Leave: Monitoring this and identifying potential issues within employees attendance. Coming up with solutions and working with the employee.
- Payroll \& Perks: Oversee payroll processing and manage the benefits package (health insurance, etc).
- Compliance: Keep us up to date with law and handle all documentation with high precision.
- Experience: 5\+ years in HR, at least 2 years in a management or "department of one" role is preferred.
- Education: CIPD Level 5 as a minimum
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with computers, happy to explore software and get the most out of systems. Be able to come up with new processes and apply these into a system.
- Soft Skills: likeable, easy to talk to personality. Be able to keep employee information private.
