Carlton Packaging is an extremely well\-established business that specialises in the design and supply of smart packaging materials for fulfilment operations across Europe. The company’s core business is within the ecommerce industry supplying corrugated board and consumables, aiming to supply an all\-in\-one solution to the end user.

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to proactively support the business to drive our people strategy forward in a standalone role.

You will have extensive generalist HR experience at Manager level, ideally underpinned by a CIPD level 5 (minimum) qualification. You will be confident with current and upcoming employment law, best practice and its application. We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in learning and development and can work with line managers to identify opportunities to drive our people forward in their role and in their development.

You will be in your element, balancing operational and strategic tasks. You will be happy to perform HR admin tasks or develop policies as well as providing credible HR support and advice at all levels across the business.

You will have sound knowledge of MS Excel and managing data, with confidence in using other MS software and HR software

Your personable and pragmatic approach will establish effective working relationships across the business

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Making a positive impact on the Carlton culture and provide generalist HR support including employee and management advice on HR issues in line with current employment law and best practice.

  • Leading and embedding Carlton’s HR strategy to align with the business objectives and culture.

  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders in the business

  • Providing professional, effective and customer focused HR expertise to support the delivery of the business Strategy i.e. talent management, succession planning, recruitment, performance management, training and development, reward and recognition.

  • Working with SLT to build strong talent pipelines and manage recruitment.

  • Supporting line managers across the business with people related initiatives, organisational structure and design; applying HR best practice to influence change, employee engagement and talent management

  • Supporting line managers across the business with employee relations and other people matters; applying a pragmatic approach to issues with the business values in mind

  • Dealing with complex employee requests and queries regarding HR issues, policies and processes.

  • Providing support for internal and external HR\-related queries or requests, ensuring timely and accurate and responses.

  • Ensuring accurate and relevant data is held on HRIS to generate data for HR Metrics and auditor reporting and complying with GDPR regulations

  • Developing and updating policies and procedures in line with best practice and evolving employment law.

  • Delivering company HR Induction to all new starters.

  • Ensuring mandatory training is assigned to all relevant employees in line with statutory and company requirements.

  • Respond to employees with benefits related queries (Medicash, Yulife etc)

  • Working with CFO to review company benefits offering annually

  • Maintaining HR Case Management log to generate data for HR Metrics and auditor reporting

  • Working to transform and modernise HR processes to ensure smooth, accurate and timely outputs.

  • Staying up\-to\-date with the latest employment law, HR trends and best practices, making improvements to HR processes when necessary.
