HR Officer (Maternity Cover Contract)

The firm was established 75 years ago and has remained independent over the years, mostly growing organically. The firm's diverse clientele spans a multitude of sectors, with a particular focus on serving owner\-managed businesses and their entrepreneur owners. Additionally, Haslers expertly caters to UK subsidiaries of large international groups.

Job Summary

We require an HR Officer (known as a People \& Talent Officer) to join our People \& Talent team on a fixed\-term maternity cover position.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a varied list of duties, including:

• Liaising with staff and Partners as an internal resource for any HR/people queries


• Organising and administering the firmwide appraisal process


• Organising and administering mid\-probation and end\-of\-probation review meetings


• Writing letters to staff about various people\-related topics


• Leading on the induction and onboarding process for new starters


• Assisting with the offboarding process for any departing staff


• Assisting the People \& Talent Manager with monthly payroll checks ready for processing


• Assisting with recruitment related activities including arranging interviews, liaising with candidates, and creating offer paperwork


• Organising rewards for staff anniversaries and special events


• Looking after the wellbeing allowance and processing claims that staff put in


• Assisting the training team with any training and development queries, and working alongside our training provider for any queries or issues


• Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

Who We are Looking For

We require a candidate with experience within an HR role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

• Good working knowledge of employment law


• Strong attention to detail


• Excellent organisational skills


• Strong communication skills


• Be able to demonstrate confidentiality


• Have a pro\-active attitude

We would consider candidates of both a part\-time and full\-time nature.

This role is a fixed\-term maternity leave position and we would be looking for the successful candidate to commence as soon as possible. The position would be for between 9 – 12 months, depending on start date.

The role would be office\-based initially with the opportunity to work from home one day a week after a successfully passed probationary period.

Please note that the displayed maximum salary is the FTE and would be pro\-rated for the exact duration of the contract.
