We are very pleased to be working alongside our friendly and welcoming client (on a sole agency basis) as they seek to recruit a HR Officer - 4 days per week, site based.

HR Officer - 4 days per week.

Lewes outskirts with plenty of parking available for all staff on site. Due to workplace location it is essential to be a driver and have your own transport

Full time permanent role - 4 weekdays per week 0800-1630

Actual salary for 4 days per week - £29260-£31150 plus good pension scheme and excellent annual leave entitlement. Salary is currently under an annual review and could increase. All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

The role - HR Officer

My client is looking for a professional, confident, and approachable HR practitioner who can work with discretion and integrity.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes


• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, and safer recruitment practices


• Provide HR advice and guidance to senior leaders and staff


• Support employee wellbeing, absence management, and employee relations matters


• Coordinate training, induction, and probation processes


• Maintain HR systems, personnel records, and reporting


• Assist with policy development, implementation, and compliance monitoring


• Support disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes


• Monitor HR best practice and legislative developments


• Work closely with members of the leadership team


• Experience, skills and competencies required:


• CIPD Level 5 qualified, part-qualified, or equivalent


• Previous generalist HR experience


• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice


• Experience providing HR advice and support to managers and employees


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable - not essential:

• HR experience within a charity, not-for-profit or education sectors


• Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
