HR Manager – UK \& Europe

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days working from home
Travel: Occasional UK and European travel
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of HR activities across UK and European operations. This is a broad, hands\-on role where you will act as the primary HR contact, supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle.
Working within a growing, project\-led environment, you will have responsibility for developing effective HR processes, supporting recruitment and workforce planning, managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with UK employment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day\-to\-day HR activities across the UK and Europe.
- Provide practical HR guidance and support to employees and managers.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, pre\-employment checks and offboarding.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, templates and systems.
- Manage employee records, absence, annual leave and HR reporting.
- Support employee relations, performance, conduct and attendance matters.
- Coordinate payroll, benefits, salary reviews and reward activities.
- Oversee right\-to\-work checks, visa processes and associated records.
- Coordinate mandatory training and employee development activities.
- Support workforce planning, mobilisation and organisational development.
- Manage relationships with recruitment, payroll, benefits and external HR providers.
- Line manage HR/administrative support within the function.
- Ensure HR processes comply with UK employment legislation and relevant European requirements.
You will have practical HR experience across the employee lifecycle, with a strong understanding of UK employment practices. You will be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working independently in a growing business.
You should have:
- Proven HR management experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK HR processes and employment practices.
- Experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and payroll coordination.
- Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally.
- Experience working across multiple priorities and, ideally, multiple countries.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and HR systems.
- Previous line management experience, or a strong desire to develop as a people manager.
