About the role

Our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick business is looking for a HR Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, Hinkley Point C. Working closely with senior project leaders, you’ll act as a trusted HR partner, ensuring people strategies, workforce plans and talent initiatives are aligned to key project milestones and business objectives.
As a key member of the people team, you’ll help shape a high\-performing and inclusive culture by driving employee engagement, talent management, workforce planning and organisational development activities across a complex alliance environment. You’ll provide expert guidance to leaders, influence decision\-making through workforce insights, and ensure robust governance processes are in place to support effective people management.
Location: Flexible UK base with regular travel to Bridgwater, Somerset

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with project leaders to deliver people plans that support business objectives and project milestones.

  • Build strong relationships across alliance partners, HR teams and specialist centres of expertise.

  • Lead workforce planning activities in collaboration with operational and project stakeholders.

  • Oversee governance for recruitment and resourcing decisions, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

  • Provide coaching and expert HR advice to leaders on employee relations, performance and people matters.

  • Drive talent management, employee engagement and organisational development initiatives across the project.

  • Analyse workforce data and produce insights that support effective decision\-making and project performance.

  • Manage project\-specific approvals, people governance processes and HR system changes.

  • Champion high\-performance working by supporting leaders to consistently apply performance and development practices.

  • Lead Diversity \& Inclusion initiatives and help foster an inclusive and collaborative working environment.

  • Partner with the Work Winning Director and wider business teams to support work\-winning activity.
Who we're looking for
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leadership teams to deliver people strategies and business objectives.

  • Strong track record of operating within complex, matrix organisations and diverse workforces.

  • Experience leading or supporting organisational change and cultural transformation initiatives.

  • Trusted HR professional with the ability to coach, influence and challenge constructively.

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how people initiatives support business performance.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship\-building skills.

  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using HR systems and data to drive insight and decision\-making.

  • Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
