HR Generalist Payroll (m/f/d) \- Puttgarden
Your new job includes
We are currently in the process of establishing a new team in Puttgarden to operate our future retail business on ferry routes as well as in border shops once the required regulatory approval has been granted.

In the position of People \& Services Generalist Payroll (m/f/d), you will be based on site in Puttgarden and report to the Head of People \& Culture.

You ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for your area of responsibility. You act as a key contact for payroll‑related topics, coordinate external service providers, and support employees and managers with all payroll and administrative matters.

In particular, you will

• ensure correct and on‑time payroll processing in close coordination with an external payroll service provider as well as review, assess, and apply collective bargaining, tax, and social‑security regulations within payroll processes


• maintain HR master data in HRIS systems and ensure GDPR‑compliant handling of personal data


• support HR generalists with contract administration, documentation, and employee certificates


• act as a contact person for employees, managers, authorities, health insurance funds, and works councils on payroll matters


• continuously improve payroll processes and interfaces and support administrative HR and finance‑related topics

• Completed commercial training with further qualification in payroll accounting or a comparable HR background


• Several years of professional experience in payroll processing, ideally also in maritime payroll


• Strong knowledge of payroll tax and social security law as well as collective labour agreements


• Experience with payroll systems (e.g. Hansalog) and confident handling of MS Office


• Good English skills, written and spoken


• A structured, independent, and detail‑oriented working style with strong service orientation


• High level of discretion, reliability, and confidence in handling sensitive and confidential data
