Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming SEN school in Tameside, seeking a professional and organised HR Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis, working Thursdays and Fridays.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or HR professional looking for a flexible role within a rewarding educational environment. The successful candidate will provide HR and administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth running of staff processes across the school.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records


• Monitoring and recording staff sickness absence


• Coordinating and processing return-to-work documentation and meetings


• Supporting the administration of maternity leave, including correspondence and record keeping


• Assisting with absence management procedures


• Preparing HR letters, reports and employment documentation


• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment processes


• Managing DBS checks, references and compliance records


• Providing general administrative support to the leadership and HR team

The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, or School Administration role


• Knowledge of sickness absence management, return-to-work procedures and maternity administration


• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail


• The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally


• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office


• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work


• Experience working within a school environment is desirable but not essential
