Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, providing practical advice, and making a real difference to businesses? This is an exciting opportunity to join The HR Dept as an HR Advisor, supporting a wide range of clients with high\-quality, responsive and commercially focused HR guidance.

The HR Dept provides outsourced HR and employment law support to small and medium\-sized businesses, helping clients manage their people confidently, fairly and compliantly. You will be part of a knowledgeable, supportive and close\-knit team that values professional standards, pragmatic solutions and excellent client service.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to work across generalist HR, employee relations, client meetings and project work, with ongoing opportunities to maintain your CPD, develop your employment law knowledge and contribute to the growth of services offered to clients.

Job Purpose: To provide an exceptional, timely HR advisory service to clients, managing client relationships and delivering day\-to\-day HR support across a range of generalist HR and employee relations matters. The role includes attending client meetings on site as required and supporting the continued growth of the business.

What you'll be doing:

• Answer incoming advice calls, provide HR guidance, and log all advice on the CRM for audit trail. Escalate queries outside your knowledge/experience to the Managing Director.


• Provide requested letters and ensuring records are accurately maintained and updated.


• Deliver practical, user\-friendly HR advice and a high standard of customer service to clients.


• Attend and run employee relations meetings alongside and/or on behalf of clients.


• Draft bespoke letters, policies, contracts of employment and handbooks, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.


• Deliver ad\-hoc HR projects for clients (e.g., restructures, redundancies, policy development).


• Account manage key clients, providing regular on\-site support as the client base grows.


• Participate in designing and offering additional services to benefit clients.


• Travel across Coventry and Warwickshire, and occasionally Derbyshire, to deliver on\-site support where required.


• Support colleagues and contribute to the development of the team's HR capability.


• Ensure client targets and deadlines are met.


• Maintain CPD and keep employment law knowledge up to date (e.g., CIPD events, legal updates).

• Enthusiastic and passionate about HR and providing first\-class customer service.


• CIPD qualified to Level 5 or above (essential).


• Strong generalist HR experience.


• Strong understanding of SME environments and the challenges faced by SMEs.


• Sound knowledge of employment law and commitment to keeping up to date with legislative changes.


• Excellent written English, good numeracy, and ability to work accurately at pace.


• Strong administrative skills and IT literacy.


• Excellent organisation and communication skills.


• Strong problem\-solving skills and sound judgement, with ability to deliver pragmatic solutions.


• Car owner with a full driving licence (essential).


• Enjoys working as part of a small, close team.


• A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with a willingness to share knowledge and support others.
