Job summary
Do you want to make a real impact on the colleague experience as a HR Administrator, delivering a trusted, high quality People service that keeps the organisation running smoothly.
In this role, youll be a central point of contact for HR and People queries, providing clear guidance on policies, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring processes are accurate, timely, and professional. Youll support a wide range of employee lifecycle activities, from onboarding and systems support to maintaining data, helping to create a seamless and positive experience for colleagues and managers.
Working as part of a collaborative People team, youll use your judgement to deliver the right outcomes, maintain high standards of service delivery, and contribute to continuous improvement across People services.

Job description
Were looking for someone who takes pride in delivering a high quality and reliable service and is motivated by supporting others. You will be organised, approachable, and confident in handling a wide range of queries, using sound judgement to provide clear, consistent, and professional advice. In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for colleagues and managers, responding to people related queries, resolving issues, and knowing when to escalate where appropriate. Your day\-to\-day work will involve processing a variety of people transactions, supporting onboarding activities to ensure a positive experience for new starters, and maintaining accurate and up to date information across systems and records.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure queries are handled efficiently and processes run smoothly, while also identifying opportunities to improve ways of working. You will be responsible for managing your workload effectively, balancing priorities to meet deadlines without compromising on quality. Maintaining high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality will be essential, alongside ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. Through your work, you will contribute to a positive colleague experience and support the effective delivery of People services.
Salary
New entrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band. Internal rules apply to existing Civil Servants, i.e. level transfers move on current salary or the pay range minimum, transfers on promotion move to new pay range minimum or receive 10% increase. Either case is determined by whichever is the highest.
This role is being advertised at AO Grade which has a salary of £27,942\.
Working hours:
Standard working week is 37 hours, Part time at 30 hours or above, flexible working hours policy available.
Office Attendance
This role is contractually based at our office in Bristol, 10\-minute walk from Temple Meads train station. We recognise and value the mutual benefits of hybrid working and have a flexible approach to in person attendance, which can vary dependent on the requirements of individual business units \- the details of which can be discussed with candidates if invited to attend an interview.

- CIPD Level 3 qualified, or equivalent experience, with commitment to achieve the qualification within 2 years.
