Housing Enabler

Opus People Solutions are hiring for a Housing Enabler within a Local Authority client based in Kidderminster.

The role is 1 day per week, offering hybrid working with occasional on-site attendance required, and £250 per day Umbrella (£178.55 PAYE), with an initial contract length of 3 months.

Please see a high-level overview of what the position involves below:

• Providing specialist housing advice on planning pre-application discussions and planning applications.


• Working closely with planning colleagues to ensure housing considerations are effectively incorporated into development proposals.


• Building positive relationships with developers, Registered Providers, planning agents, and other key housing stakeholders.


• Supporting and facilitating housing development opportunities across the Wyre Forest district.


• Working with Registered Providers to develop and implement local lettings plans.


• Acting in an enabling role to help deliver housing schemes that meet local housing needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Housing development, affordable housing, housing strategy, or planning-related housing roles.


• Working collaboratively with developers, Registered Providers, and planning professionals.


• Providing housing advice within a local authority, housing association, or development environment.


• Stakeholder engagement and partnership working across multiple organisations.


• Previous experience within Local Government.
