Job Overview:
Essex Home Help Service is a registered charity and we are seeking compassionate Home Helps in the area of Braintree, Halstead, Earls Colne, Coggeshall and all surrounding areas to provide essential support to elderly, vulnerable and carers of loved ones in Essex. As a Home Help, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with various tasks to enhance their quality of life.
Essential:
- Driving is an essential requirement for this position.
- Enhanced DBS (this can be applied for if the successful applicant does not have one)
We do not work, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, Christmas Eve or the week between Christmas and New Year.
Travel time paid between clients.
5\.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
Holiday Pay is paid along side your wages each month.

Essex Home Help Service is a registered charity established to continue providing vital home support services following the closure of Age UK Essex's Home Help Service. Our mission is to support elderly and vulnerable people, as well as carers of loved ones, to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.
We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and friendly Home Helps to join our growing team across Essex.
About the Role:
As a Home Help, you will provide practical assistance and companionship to clients in their own homes, helping to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys making a positive difference in their local community.
Please note: No personal care is provided as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out light household duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and organised home environment
- Assist clients with shopping and essential errands
- Collect prescriptions when required
- Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
- Offer sitting services to provide respite for family carers
- Visit the same clients on agreed days and times each week
- Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support where needed
- Travel time paid between clients
- 5\.6 weeks' annual leave (pro rata)
- Holiday pay paid alongside monthly wages
- No evenings, weekend, bank holiday's, Christmas Eve, or the week between Christmas/New Year
- A supportive and friendly team environment

- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential)
- Compassionate, caring, and dependable nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one if not already held)
