Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Support Workers to provide exceptional care and assistance to clients in their own homes. This role is vital in supporting individuals with diverse needs, including elderly clients, those with chronic illnesses, or individuals recovering from illness or surgery. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others and have experience in various aspects of personal and medical care. Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility

  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements

  • Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions

  • Support clients with specialised needs, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hospice care

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well\-being

  • Manage behaviour effectively and implement personalised behaviour management strategies

  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment

  • Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands as required

  • Follow care plans meticulously and document observations accurately for case management purposes

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety standards are maintained

  • Handle heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in nursing homes, care homes, assisted living, or home care settings is highly desirable

  • Certification in first aid is preferred; willingness to undertake training if not already qualified

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care procedures is advantageous

  • Experience in Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hospice care is beneficial

  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred for client transportation duties

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans effectively

  • Excellent communication skills and a caring demeanour towards clients of all ages and backgrounds

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting safely and efficiently
