We are looking for a Senior Cloudops Engineer to join our team
As our Senior CloudOps Engineer, you will help run and evolve the AWS platform behind seven retail brands, more than 190 shops and the webshops that serve them. Our estate spans multiple AWS accounts, connected to our datacenter and our stores.
This is a hands\-on senior engineering role. You will write the OpenTofu that builds the platform, the Jenkins pipelines and ArgoCD applications that deliver onto it. You will also help set direction: we are migrating our e\-commerce back end out of a shared legacy account into isolated platform accounts, consolidating our networking onto new Transit Gateways, moving from Terraform to OpenTofu and expanding GitOps delivery. There is a lot of interesting work and real ownership on offer.
You will
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across a multi\-account environment.
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using OpenTofu and Terraform.
- Manage cloud networking, connectivity, and workload migrations to modern platform environments.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments, and GitOps practices.
- Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, incident management, and recovery planning.
- Strengthen security, access management, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Drive cloud cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, provide technical leadership, and contribute to architecture decisions.
- 6\+ years in cloud operations, platform engineering, DevOps or SRE, with at least 4 years running AWS in production.
- Deep AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, databases, identity and security, ideally in a multi\-account setup.
- Strong infrastructure as code skills with Terraform or OpenTofu, including module design, state management and drift handling.
- Production experience with containers on ECS and Kubernetes, including cluster upgrades, workload scheduling and troubleshooting.
- Hands\-on CI/CD engineering, ideally with Jenkins pipelines, plus familiarity with GitOps delivery using ArgoCD or similar.
- Solid Linux administration and scripting in Python and Bash, and comfort automating against cloud APIs.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- A track record of operating business\-critical systems under change control, including incident response and postmortems.
- Practical knowledge of cloud security: IAM design, secrets management, network segmentation, WAF, encryption and backup.
- Experience with, or genuine appetite for, hybrid environments where cloud meets an on\-premises datacenter, Active Directory and legacy systems.
- Practical experience with AI and machine learning infrastructure on AWS, and the guardrails and cost control those workloads need.
- Confident, critical use of AI coding assistants in your daily engineering work.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A versatile position with pronounced responsibility and variety in a strongly growing and innovative market leader, operating internationally with headquarters in Hoboken (Antwerp) and offices in the Netherlands and the UK.
- The IT organisation is a driving force to support the strong growth and you will help shape it.
- An open corporate culture where you can be yourself.
- A competitive gross monthly salary in proportion to your experience, including the possibility of a company car, supplemented by fringe benefits such as meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, additional holidays, and staff discount.
- Adventurous colleagues in an international and diverse team.
- The opportunity to participate in our bootcamps (showers available) and various team events twice a week during the lunch break.
