The Highway Development and Adoption Team is based in the Network Strategy service area within the wider Highways and Transportation Team. It is responsible for leading on the delivery of new roads and highway improvements associated with new major development. This role includes offering the Local Highway Authority input to local plans and associated development strategies, offering Highway Authority recommendations to the Local Planning Authority, leading on Section 278 and Section 38 agreements and offering superintendence to the delivery of third\-party developer led works.
The role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highway Development and Adoption Engineer to join our Network Strategy team within our Highways Service. You will be part of a team of skilled and passionate Engineers delivering our Highway Development and Adoption Service.
We undertake the roles and responsibilities associated with the Council’s function as Local Highway Authority, responding to planning applications and provide strategic direction on matters relating to highways development management within North Yorkshire.
If you have experience in the field of highways and transportation or housing delivery then we want to hear from you, as all training and peer support will be provided as you learn and develop experience through this role.
To be successful you must hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent or as a minimum, an NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent with suitable experience within civil engineering, planning or highways and transportation sector.
