About the Role A highly regarded primary school in Islington is seeking an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their successful Autism Resource Provision (ARP) from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with Autism (ASD) and social communication needs. The role offers a unique blend of classroom-based support and wider SEN intervention and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their leadership skills within an established and supportive SEN environment.
The Role This varied position is split across two key areas:
Mornings • Supporting pupils within the Autism Resource Provision (ARP)
- Delivering targeted interventions and structured learning activities
- Supporting pupils with Autism and social communication difficulties
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement
- Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and teaching staff
- Supporting SEN administration and record keeping
- Assisting with EHCP reviews, pupil tracking and intervention monitoring
- Supporting the wider Inclusion Team and SENCO with administrative responsibilities
- Helping to ensure high-quality provision for pupils with additional needs
- Strong experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and social communication needs
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Experience delivering interventions independently
- Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation support skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach
- Someone who can support, motivate and work effectively alongside a team of Teaching Assistants
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for inclusion and supporting children with additional needs
- Excellent support from an experienced SENCO and Inclusion Team
- Well-established provision with experienced support staff already in place
- Opportunity to develop leadership and SEN coordination experience
