HGV Technician Opportunity with Excellent Benefits Career Progression

Our client, a reputable franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealership based in Newport, is seeking a fully qualified and experienced HGV Technician to join their Service Department. This is a permanent opportunity offering a "4 on 4 off" shift pattern, with excellent career prospects within a leading dealer group and brand.

Duties as a HGV Technician:

• Perform all scheduled service and maintenance work efficiently whilst maintaining the manufacturer's quality standards


• Conduct comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of HGV malfunctions


• Support workshop colleagues with technical issues and updates


• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards


• Document diagnoses, repairs, services, and safety inspections accurately


• Contribute to customer retention by delivering professional service at all times


• Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced workshop environment


• Assist in supporting technical training and innovations within the team

Requirements:

• Fully qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent


• Practical hands-on experience post-qualification is highly desirable


• Strong technical diagnostic and repair skills


• Excellent team player with a committed work ethic


• Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure


• Living in or within reasonable commuting distance of Newport


• Hold an active HGV driving licence is advantageous but not essential
