Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver specialising in Flat Bed and Skip Loader operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills, with an emphasis on commercial driving experience. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics team, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of vehicle operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate flat bed lorries and skip loaders in accordance with legal and safety regulations
- Conduct pre\-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Comply with all traffic laws and company policies during operations
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management
- Valid HGV licence with relevant classifications for flat bed and skip loader operation
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or skip loader vehicles
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and route planning skills
- Strong commitment to safety standards and traffic regulations
- Ability to operate heavy goods vehicles responsibly and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
