Manpower is recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to support a major rail company, collecting commercial waste from railway stations and associated sites across London.

This is an important role supporting one of the UK's busiest rail networks. We're looking for professional, safety-conscious drivers who understand that this is not a rushed operation. Navigating London's busy roads requires patience, vigilance, and a commitment to safe working practices at all times.

The Role

• Operate a rear-steer HGV dustcart on planned collection routes.


• Collect commercial waste from railway stations and rail network locations across London.


• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.


• Work closely with your crew to complete collections safely and efficiently.


• Follow all company and health & safety procedures.


• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately.


• Maintain a professional approach whilst working in highly visible public areas.

Safety is Everything

Safety is at the heart of this role. You'll be driving in some of London's busiest areas, sharing the road with pedestrians, cyclists, buses, and other vehicles.

We are looking for drivers who:

• Put safety before speed.


• Remain calm and professional in busy traffic conditions.


• Follow safe reversing procedures without exception.


• Demonstrate excellent awareness of vulnerable road users.


• Take pride in maintaining the highest driving standards.

To support safe operations, you will be provided with a dedicated crew, including a Driver's Mate, who will assist with manoeuvring and act as a banksman during reversing activities. Safe reversing procedures must be followed at all times.

Hours & Shifts

The majority of shifts are day shifts starting at 6:00 AM, typically finishing around 2:00 PM.

The role operates on a job-and-finish basis, meaning once your route has been completed safely and efficiently, you can finish for the day.

There are also regular opportunities for:

• Night shifts


• Weekend shifts


• Overtime

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence


• Driver CPC Qualification Card


• Digital Tachograph Card


• Previous HGV driving experience


• Strong commitment to safety and compliance


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills


• Reliable, professional, and punctual attitude

Pay & Benefits

• £21.00 - £25.64 per hour


• £31.75 per hour for nights and weekend shifts


• Predominantly day work with 6:00 AM starts
