HGV Class 2 Driver

Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries with a rear mounted HIAB to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service. Applicants must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and have relevant commercial driving experience.

Duties

• Safely operate a flatbed lorry in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies


• Deliver goods to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries


• Conduct pre\- and post\-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards


• Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment to prevent movement during transit


• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs


• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered


• Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle throughout the working day


• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including compliance with driving hours regulations

• Proven experience in multidrop commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries


• Experience using a HIAB preferred but not essential


• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 2 licence


• Knowledge of road safety laws and regulations within the UK


• Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads, handling products and performing vehicle inspections


• Excellent organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently


• Good communication skills for liaising with customers, transport manager, and team members


• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service excellence
