Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our transport and operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver looking for a long\-term career with a well\-established and growing company.
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will play a key role in supporting our operational teams by ensuring the safe and timely delivery and collection of scaffolding materials, access equipment, and associated products to construction sites and customer locations.
The Role
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for operating company vehicles safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and professionalism.
Your duties will include:
- Delivering and collecting scaffolding materials, access equipment, and associated products to and from customer sites.
- Ensuring all loads are secured correctly and transported safely in accordance with current legislation.
- Completing daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintaining accurate delivery and collection records.
- Liaising with site personnel, customers, and colleagues to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.
- Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles where required.
- Following all company procedures, health and safety regulations, and transport legislation.
- Keeping vehicles clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
- Representing the company professionally when visiting customer and construction sites.
- Supporting operational requirements and assisting other departments when necessary.
The successful candidate will be a reliable, hardworking individual with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to safety.
Essential requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of driver hours regulations and transport legislation.
- Excellent awareness of health and safety practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements.
While not essential, preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- HIAB certification and practical operating experience.
- NPORS certificate and relevant operating experience.
- Previous experience within the scaffolding, access, construction, or plant hire industries.
- Experience delivering to live construction sites.
- Knowledge of scaffolding materials and equipment.
- Forklift or other plant operating experience.
