The Role As a Class 1 Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous chemicals in bulk tankers to customer sites across the UK.
You will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered safely and on time while complying with all relevant transport legislation, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities • Safely transport hazardous chemicals in bulk tankers to customer sites across the UK.
- Ensure full compliance with ADR regulations and all relevant transport legislation.
- Carry out thorough vehicle and equipment checks before, during and after journeys.
- Maintain accurate driving, delivery and compliance records.
- Comply fully with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Wear and maintain the required PPE in accordance with company procedures.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
- Communicate effectively with customers, transport planners and colleagues.
- Follow all company Health & Safety, ISO and operational procedures.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standard.
- Report any vehicle, equipment, safety or operational issues promptly.
Essential Requirements • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- ADR Qualification – Classes 8 & 9 required.
- Previous tanker driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Clean or near-clean driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of UK road networks and route planning.
- Good understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience within the chemical manufacturing, bulk transport or industrial sector.
- Experience dealing directly with commercial customers and industrial sites.
- 4 On / 4 Off shift pattern, providing a consistent working schedule and excellent work-life balance.
