Join Age UK Wyvern’s Help at Home team and help make everyday life a little easier for older people across Herefordshire.

Our Help at Home Assistants provide practical, non\-personal care support to older people who need a helping hand with day\-to\-day tasks — helping them stay in their own homes, maintain their independence, and improve their wellbeing.

What You’ll Do
Every day is different! You’ll support clients with tasks such as:

• General housework and cleaning and tidying


• Laundry, ironing, and changing beds


• Shopping and running errands


• Preparing light meals and refreshments


• Taking clients to appointments or social activities


• Companionship — having a cup of tea and a chat


• Reading or writing letters and helping with paperwork

Please note: this role does not include personal care.

About You
We’re looking for caring, dependable people who genuinely enjoy helping others.
You’ll need to be:

• Friendly, patient, and trustworthy


• Able to work independently and manage your own workload


• Organised, proactive, and flexible


• A good communicator with empathy and respect for older people


• Committed to confidentiality and safeguarding principles

Access to your own transport and flexibility to travel within Herefordshire is essential.
