As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Healthcare Instructor to join our team. This is a hands on, people focused role where you will play an important part in supporting, training and developing our healthcare professionals, ensuring they have the practical skills, confidence and training required to deliver safe, high\-quality care.
The role will involve delivering training across a number of locations, working closely with our healthcare professionals and internal team, with a small element of compliance and training administration.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare instructor who enjoys working directly with healthcare professionals and wants the flexibility of a 3–4 day working week.
The primary focus of the role will be delivering high\-quality, practical healthcare training to Karo.ie healthcare professionals. You will help ensure our staff are confident, competent and appropriately trained before working with our healthcare clients.
Travel is an important part of this role, as training will be delivered at different locations depending on the needs of our healthcare professionals and clients, primarily across the South East and Midlands, with travel to other locations as required. We are looking for someone who is comfortable travelling as part of their working week. Mileage for required travel will be paid, and training schedules will be organised through a flexible rota with advance planning wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, practical healthcare training to Karo.ie healthcare professionals.
- Deliver courses including PMAV (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression), Patient Moving \& Handling and/or Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR, SAMS and Buccal training depending on your instructor qualifications.
- Deliver both classroom based and practical training sessions.
- Assess participant competency and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, professional and supportive learning environment.
- Travel to different locations to deliver scheduled training sessions as required.
- Work with the Karo.ie team to identify training requirements and coordinate upcoming sessions.
- Support refresher training and ongoing professional development.
- Support the development and expansion of our in\-house training offering as Karo.ie continues to grow.
- Maintaining accurate training attendance and certification records.
- Ensuring completed training documentation is recorded correctly.
- Monitoring relevant training certification and refresher requirements.
- Ensure training is delivered in line with relevant healthcare standards and best practice.
Essential
- Train the Trainer qualification or equivalent.
- Qualified instructor in at least one of the following:
- PMAV (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression)
- CPI
- Safe Administration of Medication
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR
- Buccal midazolam
- Oxygen
- Previous experience delivering healthcare training.
- Experience working within healthcare, disability services, social care or a related environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Confident delivering both classroom and practical training.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support healthcare professionals at different levels of experience.
- Full clean Irish driving licence.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to different locations as required.
