About the department

Our brand‑new Minimally Invasive Procedure Suite forms a key part of the patient journey within Welbeck Orthopaedics \& Neurology, providing a calm, safe and highly supportive environment for individuals undergoing pain management procedures, minor orthopaedic interventions and infusion therapies. Working closely with theatre practitioners, consultants and wider MDT colleagues, the service ensures every patient receives seamless, personalised and clinically credible care from admission to discharge.

The Procedure Suite is designed around dignity, communication and technical precision, supporting patients throughout their peri‑operative experience. Our team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment, preparing theatre spaces, assisting with procedures and enabling smooth recoveries.

As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) within our Procedure Suite Theatre team, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality peri‑operative care. Working under the supervision of registered practitioners, you will support patient preparation, assist during minor procedures, manage equipment and maintain theatre readiness.

You will play an active role in supporting consultants and theatre teams, performing delegated peri‑operative tasks, managing documentation, checking sterilised equipment and helping to create a reassuring, patient‑centred environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with theatre experience who is keen to build their skills within a modern, forward‑thinking surgical setting.

  • Check and prepare sterilised equipment, escalating any concerns promptly

  • Move and handle equipment, wheelchairs and trolleys in line with manual‑handling procedures

  • Communicate clearly with patients, consultants and the theatre team, escalating concerns appropriately

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and well‑organised environment in line with infection‑prevention standards

  • Monitor stock levels and support theatre staff with equipment setup and routine safety checks

  • Participate in audits related to patient transfer and positioning

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture, supporting fellow HCAs where needed
